Bands interested in performing at the Kung Fu Lounge should know the following things before submitting a demo:

-We are a new venue. That means that we do not yet have a "regular" late night crowd. It is largely up to the bands to bring in the crowd. Therefore, at this time, we are unfortunately not interested in booking acts without a following in Marin.

- Bands get paid the profits from the door. If we provide the door person, they will take 20% off the top as payment. Bands are more than welcome to provide their own door person instead. That means all the money is yours.

-Bands get a $12.00 tab per person for free food/drink. There is a $48.00 limit to this hospitality. Therefore, if the total number of performers exceeds 4, the $48.00 should be divided evenly by the number of players.

-Music is technically from 9:30pm to midnight, but it usually starts late due to the
not-so-smooth transition from the busy dinner hour. If you are delayed in setting up, please be understanding. You do not have to start until you are ready. Also, if there is still a decent crowd, music can go until 12:30am.

-Many bands have inquired about starting earlier because the restaurant is packed during dinner. We are sorry, but this is not an option. Yet Wah has added live music to increase late night business. Thankfully, we do not need help increasing dinner business, and adding live music to the dinner hour would be downright overwhelming.

- The sound system and lounge have a truly great sound. We have a brand new Mackie house PA with an eight-channel mixer. We also have 4 high quality dynamic mics, 4 mic chords, and 4 mic stands. The PA includes two floor monitors and two mains. Bands are usually responsible for running their own sound (mixer is located on the stage) unless other arrangements are made with Adrianne prior to the gig. (She can usually do your sound if you need her to.)

-All ages are welcome in the Kung Fu Lounge. Also, we have a full bar (for those of age) and food is available until midnight.

-If all this sounds good to you, please submit a demo (Attn:Adrianne) to Yet Wah. You can mail it or just drop it off. Feel free to follow up with Adrianne via email a week or so after submitting. Please remember that having a following in Marin is ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY. Having a band play to an empty room is no fun for any of us.
